Your website is good. Nobody just finds it.
So your website actually gets found: titles, loading time, structure and Google listing — with an honest assessment of whether the effort pays off for you at all.
What is SEO anyway?
SEO stands for search engine optimisation. Behind the term sits something very down-to-earth: you make sure Google understands what you offer, and shows it to people searching for exactly that.
Picture a hotel concierge. A guest asks: “Where can I get my roof repaired around here?” The concierge recommends three firms — the ones he knows and considers reliable. Google does precisely that, millions of times a day.
If your home page only says “Welcome”, the concierge does not know that you are a roofer in Iserlohn. He cannot recommend you — not out of malice, but out of ignorance. At its core, SEO is nothing more than introducing yourself clearly: what you do, for whom, and where. In a form that people and machines understand equally well.
Your shop window on Google
Before anyone sees your website, they see three lines in the search results. Those three lines decide the click. Switch between them and compare:
The five building blocks
SEO is not one trick but five practical steps. None of them is magic — and three are done in an afternoon.
Title & description
Every page gets a title naming the service and the location, plus two sentences that give a reason to click. The biggest lever for the smallest amount of work.
Loading time
More than half of mobile visitors leave when a page takes longer than three seconds to load. Google knows this and ranks slow pages down.
Mobile first
Google rates the mobile view of your site exclusively — even for how it appears on a desktop. Whatever breaks on a phone costs you positions everywhere.
Structure
A page needs an outline like a table of contents: one main heading with sub-points below. Google reads that outline to grasp the topic.
The map block
For local searches, a map section with three businesses sits above all results. Whoever appears there gets called first. The Google listing itself is free.
The rest is patience
Everything beyond that — content answering real questions, references from other sites, well-tended reviews — works slowly and steadily. Anyone promising you “position 1 in four weeks” for 99 € a month is selling you nothing but invoices.
What does that deliver in practice?
Your position in the search results decides how many people click at all. The drop-off further down is more dramatic than most people assume:
Average figures from published industry analyses of the organic click-through rate. They vary considerably by sector and search query — useful as an order of magnitude, not as a promise.
Do the maths yourself
Move the sliders to match your situation. The calculation is deliberately kept simple — it shows an order of magnitude, not a forecast.
How often does somebody in your area type your service into Google? For a trade business in a town the size of Iserlohn, 200–500 is realistic.
The far right reads “Page 2” — where you end up if you do nothing.
How many website visitors call or write? 2–5 % is typical for service businesses.
Your average order value, roughly estimated.
At position 3 that would be roughly 0.9 more enquiries a month.
Deliberately optimistic: the annual figure assumes every enquiry becomes a job. In practice it is a share of them — check it against your own conversion rate.
The calculation leaves out plenty else too: competition, seasonality, ads above the results, the quality of your offer. It does not replace advice — it only shows why position matters at all.
What SEO cannot do
This part is missing from most quotes. It matters to us, because disappointed expectations cost more than honest information.
✕ Guarantee position 1
Nobody can, and neither can we. Anyone promising it either does not know better or is counting on you not checking.
✕ Work instantly
Google needs time to notice changes and classify them. First movement after four to eight weeks, reliable results after three to six months.
✕ Create demand
If nobody searches for what you offer, first place will not help. Then you need other routes — and honestly, a conversation about it rather than an SEO invoice.
✕ Rescue a weak offer
SEO brings people to your site. Whether they call is decided by your offer, your prices and your presentation. More visitors on a confusing site are just more visitors.
How we go about it
So you know what to expect — and when you will see what.
Initial review
We check what people in your region actually search for, where you stand today and what your competitors do better. You get it in writing — understandable, without a salad of metrics.
The practical work
Titles and descriptions for every page, a clean outline, loading time, mobile view, setting up with Google, and the technical basics such as sitemap and redirects.
Measuring instead of guessing
From now on there are real figures: which words people find you with, at which position, how many click. You get the access — the data belongs to you, not to us.
Refining
Now it becomes clear which search terms really carry. We build on what works and drop what does not. No lock-in contract — you decide again after every step.
Does this fit your website?
SEO works best on a site that is built cleanly — fast, maintainable and without legacy baggage. How we build websites is described on the service page Websites & web applications. How a project runs at our end is on the Process page.
If you would like to see finished sites: under References there are eleven example websites to click through — all built in-house.
