What are AI agents?

AI agents are assistants that do not just generate text but work: they research information, calculate quotes, compile documents and prepare decisions. The difference from a toy lies in the boundaries: a good agent has a clearly described task, fixed tools — and points where a human approves before anything goes out.

That solves the real problem of AI in business: trust. Automation running blind produces errors nobody wants to be responsible for. My agents stay transparent — every step is documented, every email is approved by a human.

Self-hosted & GDPR: what that means here in practice

AI needs data — and that is exactly where the risk lies: anyone who copies customer enquiries, prices or internal documents into a US AI service hands business knowledge out of their hands. My agents run on your own infrastructure, in your company or in a German data centre. Your data never has to leave your organisation.
